WLNA NEWS
Happy New Year Neighbors!
If you werent able to attend the WLNA Holiday Party you missed a very good time. We had a great turnout and everyone was very excited to see Santa Claus show up in his personally customized Red Hemi! One thing for sure, Santa rides in style! Santa handed out candy canes and took time to listen to all of the kids Christmas lists. Santa showed his great sense of humor with the kids and didnt forget his giving spirit as he brought a present for each and every child that attended the party.

Joey Cimino shares his Christmas wish list with Santa.
During the party we held an appetizer and dessert contest. As if we didnt have enough to eat during the holidays already, the food was over the top. Winner of the best appetizer was Jennifer Austin with 2nd place going to Olivia Mead. Winner of the best dessert was Madeline Coffey with 2nd place going to Marcia Oltz. The evening was not complete without our annual Boat Parade and fortunately the weather cooperated. In his annual finale, Santa Claus skied around the lake to conclude the evening. My sincerest thanks to everyone who took the time to attend and brought something to the party.
Sincerely,
Mike Coffey, President

Lost Cat
Brenda Murray of 18215 Griffith Road lost her cat, Armand, on December 23, 2004. Armand is a white Main Coon and weighs about 19 pounds. He has pink markings on his ears and paws and has gold eyes. Brenda is offering a $100 Reward for the safe return of her cat. If you have any information on Armand, please contact Brenda at 949-2067, or any board member.
Duckweed on Little Lake Wilson
Residents of both lakes may have noticed a recent bloom of duckweed. This weed looks very similar to salvinia minima and is known to be even more invasive. Bob Schneider has been in contact with DEP, EPC, and Adopt-a-Lake (UF) to get more information on this invasive plant, which can double itself every 16 hours in optimal conditions. Based on the information provided by these experts the board has contracted American Ecosystems, Inc. to spray the lake some time this week. American Ecosystems comes highly recommended and will spray the duckweed with the same herbicide used to treat the salvinia. If you have any questions regarding the spraying or any other matters concerning the lake, please do not hesitate to contact any board member. Bob will provide an update to all residents at our upcoming annual meeting.
